Teutopolis village board members are looking at ways to express their appreciation to the emergency services providers who helped in the aftermath of the crash of a semi truck tanker that resulted in a release of anhydrous ammonia just east of the village.

Individual thank you letters, as well as a banner expressing thanks were discussed.

Board members also discussed purchasing the Text My Gov app that would let residents subscribe and then receive messages from the village. A formal vote to make the purchase is likely at the village board meeting on October 18.

The Board also voted to refund the bond on a lot in Prairie View Subdivision since the home on the lot has been completed. It was also voted to pay just over $29,000 in TIF dollars to Siemer Milling Company, and just under $1,500 in TIF dollars to Brumleve Properties. The payments are part of redevelopment agreements between the village and the two entities.
