Philip Mette, DTM has been honored by the Effingham Toastmasters Club for 30 years of membership and service.

Philip became a member in September 1993 and has been the most consistent member. His recognition was due to his passion and commitment to communication, leadership, and service to the many members over these 30 years. Philip has attained the highest level of achievement in Toastmasters and is recognized as a Distinguished Toastmaster or DTM.

Even with limitations due to health issues, thanks to the amazing support of his wife Linda Mette, together they serve as club Treasurer and Secretary. Philip, always thinking strategically, and with a smile, “recruited” Linda for the club and she jumped right in!

The Effingham Toastmasters Club was founded in 1981 as a club within Toastmasters International (www.toastmasters.org) and focuses on helping people develop and improve upon communication and leadership skills in a friendly and supportive setting. The Effingham Club meets next, on Thursday October 12 at 6:00 p.m. at Siemer Milling Company in Teutopolis. Interest or questions may be directed to Dan Woods, danwoodsfache@gmail.com
