Effingham Man Injured in ATV Crash

An Effingham man was injured in an ATV accident just after midnight Monday morning.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office said the crash occurred at 800th Street and 1100th Avenue near Keptown.

Deputies reported that 28-year-old Jason Suckow of Mason was traveling westbound when he lost control of the ATV. The unit left the roadway to the right. Suckow overcorrected and the unit crossed back over the roadway to the left, then struck the ditch and laid over on the passenger side.

A passenger on the ATV, 28-year-old Jacob Kuhns of Effingham, was injured and was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Suckow was cited for DUI alcohol and improper operation of an ATV on a roadway.
