Beecher City Resident Injured in Crash

Details are available on a single-vehicle crash that occurred near Beecher City on August 2nd.

The crash happened on Moccasin Road at 100th Street, about a mile east of Illinois Route 128, at 5:15am. 

Effingham County Sheriff's Office reports a SUV driven by 19-year-old Cloey Haddix of Beecher City was headed south on 100th Street when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road. Deputies say Haddix overcorrected and the unit left the roadway to the left, then struck a dirt pile and went airborne, coming to a stop in a beanfield.

Haddix was injured and was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. 

Haddix was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
