Ron Mietzner, in his Santa summer suit, guides the Relay for Life Survivor & Caregiver Dinner Tuesday.

After almost three years of planning, the Ho Ho Hoping for a Cure Survivor & Caregiver Dinner, hosted by Relay For Life,  was a huge success Tuesday.

Christ's Church partnered with Relay for Life to host the event.

So many hard-working volunteers helped on the "Christmas Themed" event. They supplied fun entertainment by Three Chicks and a Stage. The "elves" helped give away many prizes to Cancer Survivors and their Caregivers in attendance.

Gabby Goat supplied a wonderful meal and Kirby Foods IGA supplied red and green iced cupcakes.

It was a wonderful night of visiting and getting energized and geared up for the Relay for Life Event at the junior high school in Teutopolis that will take place Friday July 7.

You can honor and encourage friends and family with a Luminaria that can be purchased at Premier Broadcasting, from Ron Mietzner or Becky Kinman, or by visiting relayforlife.org/effinghamil

The Luminaria Ceremony begins at 9 pm and Luminarias can also be purchased the night of the event July 7 up until 8 pm.

Giving to the American Cancer Society keeps the flame of hope lit while remenbering someone lost to cancer and honoring someone still fighting or who has beaten the disease.
