Members of the Effingham County Board's Legislative Committee Monday agreed to recommend the full Board approve another five-year agreement with Dev Net.

The company provides tax administration software that is currently utilized by the county supervisor of assessments, treasurer and clerk's offices. The cost would increase by 5% if the Board approves the purchase. The current contract expires at the end of September.

Committee members agreed that the Board should continue exempting any cost for the City of Altamont to use the county's GIS software. A similar agreement is in place with the City of Effingham and has been in effect between the County and the two cities for several years.

The Committee agreed to recommend the full board go ahead and pay bills for credit card purchases, then have the Board approve the purchases later. The move would be made to avoid late fees. It was also agreed to recommend state grant funds be utilized for the County's Victim Impact Coordinator since the State has authorized the additional funds.

The committee also agreed to recommend to the board three appointments; Tony Siemer to another term on the Airport Commission, Janelle Eck to the Housing Authority, and Todd Hull to the Southeastern Illinois Economic Development Authority.
