Teutopolis school board members Monday authorized Superintendent Matt Sturgeon to make changes to the student/parent handbook for the coming school year, including a shift to a 10-point grading scale for the district.

The Board established registration and other fee amounts for coming school with no increases. The Board also voted to lower the athletic fee from $75 to $50 for both high school and junior high participants. Here are the lunch and milk prices for the coming school year: K-6 $2.75; 7-12 $3.00; Adult $3.50; ala carte remains at 75 cents; milk 40 cents.

The Board reviewed an amended budget for the current fiscal year, with a final budget amendment hearing on June 20.

Teutopolis board members accepted resignations from Jackson Vonderheide as high school assistant track coach, Jeff Kenter as groundskeeper, Lainey Jackson as high school assistant volleyball coach, Minda Tarr as grade school custodian, and Hannah Apple as high school fall drama and junior high drama instructor.

These individuals were hired by the Teutopolis board, contingent on their completing all employment requirements: Conrad Widdersheim as high school Science teacher, Sarah Wendt as kindergarten teacher rather than Title Interventionist, Tia Chesnut as Title Interventionist rather than 6th grade Language Arts, Brendan Niebrugge as junior high volunteer assistant baseball coach, Elizabeth Rentfrow as 7-1/2 hour per day grade school paraprofessional, and Sue Bushur as paraprofessional for 7-1/2 hours a day, from 6.75 hours per day.

The Board also extended the teaching contract of Amanda Hazlett for two additional days to complete DO work in preparation for the coming school year.
