Details in on Crash Involving Cycle and SUV in Heartville (UPDATING AND CORRECTING)

Details are in on a crash involving a SUV and motorcycle in Heartville Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 2:37pm on US Route 45 near the intersection with the State Police blacktop. 

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the SUV driven by 20-year-old Tristyn L. King of Farina and the motorcycle operated by 30-year-old John L. Britton of Effingham were both southbound. Deputies report the motorcycle slowed to turn into a private drive and was rear-ended by the SUV. 

Britton, the operator of the motorcycle, was injured and was taken for treatment. 

King was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, for operating an uninsured vehicle, and for operating a vehicle while using a wireless telephone. Britton was not ticketed.
