Cycle Ran Off Road in Effingham After Possible Medical Emergency

A Shelbyville man was taken for treatment from an accident scene in Effingham Friday afternoon. Authorities believe a medical condition could have resulted in the accident.

The incident occurred just after 4pm and involved 69-year-old Gary L. Lumpp. City police report Lumpp was headed south in the 2700 block of North 3rd Street at what was described as a very slow speed. The motorcycle being operated by Lumpp ran off the roadway into a ditch. 

Lumpp was airlifted from the scene to Carle Hospital in Urbana.
