Neoga Man Sought in Reported Domestic Incident Last Week in Custody

The man sought a week ago in a reported domestic incident near Neoga has been located and arrested.

The Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation announced that 51-year-old James Walthers of Neoga has been arrested on a charge of aggravated battery.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department responded on April 20 to a domestic incident along Cumberland County Road 600 North just after noon. The suspect, Walthers, left the scene on foot prior to the officers' arrival. The sheriff's department requested State Police assistance in an effort to locate Walthers, but were unsuccessful. 

The US Marshal's Service located and arrested Walthers in Princeton, Kentucky on Wednesday. Walthers is being held in Caldwell County, Kentucky, Jail, awaiting extradition. He will be returned to Cumberland County to face the aggravated battery count.
