Dieterich village board members continued a discussion at this week's meeting regarding street sweepers.

The purchase price is too steep, so borrowing one on a periodic basis from another municipality has been considered. Those municipalities also deal with the price tag, though, so have been hesitant to make their sweepers available.

There was also discussion about smoking sewers to locate breaks, but also about a policy regarding illegal connections. The connections often involve guttering and sump pumps.

The Board is also considering a resumption of installing cemetery concrete runners. The Village began the project to help keep headstones in place a few years ago, and are going to resume the work.

There was also discussion of whether a ditch pipe in North Pointe Subdivision should be maintained or abandoned, and whether to place dog waste bag dispensers in the village park.

The Dieterich board discussed the best way to address nuisance claims such as junk vehicles and tall grass, and also made a payment to AKRA Builders for ongoing work on the Wright Family Center project.
