Those interested in learning more about Effingham County’s Childcare Scholarship Program can attend an online webinar Thursday, April 20 at 3pm, hosted by Courtney Yockey, Chairman of Effingham County’s Childcare Research Committee and Childcare Scholarship Program Subcommittee members, Connie Jerden, Molly Laue along with Effingham County Board member Norbert Soltwedel.
The Childcare Scholarship Program was created to assist families who don’t qualify for the Illinois Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) but need childcare to stay in the workforce.
To qualify, a family must meet certain requirements:
• The family must live in Effingham County and be employed by an Effingham County employer.
• Must have applied for and been denied CCAP within the past 60 days with the reason for denial being that your income is over the maximum monthly limit set by CCAP.
• Your account must be in good standing with a licensed Effingham County childcare provider.
• Household gross income (everyone who is working in your family and older than 21) must fall within the range provided below:
Family Size Scholarship Maximum Monthly Income 250% of Federal Poverty Guidelines (Gross Before Taxes)
2 $3,815
3 $4,798
4 $5,781
