Altamont school board members Tuesday accepted the resignation of Katie Lurkins as varsity girls basketball coach.

Lurkins has coached the Lady Indians since the 2013-2014 season. She is now also serving as Altamont's activities director.

The Board also accepted the resignation of Holly Homann as JV girls basketball coach, and J'Amy Jackson's resignation as assistant high school volleyball coach.

Those hired by the Altamont board were Sam Plum as 8th grade basketball coach, Tessa Philpot as high school Student Council Advisor, Gus Koester as high school golf coach, Ashley Tappendorf as a 3rd grade teacher, and Kristen Barnick as a 4th grade teacher.

Altamont board members awarded a track resurfacing bid to HSC Pavement Company for $48,346, with the work to be completed this summer. A food service contract with OPAA for the coming school year was approved, and the calendar for the current school year was amended to reflect a snow day.

The Board voted to accept sealed bids on a Lester spinet piano, an early graduation request was approved, and an overnight trip was approved for FCCLA to a state leadership conference in Springfield.
