With all of the unofficial vote counts in from Shelby and Cumberland counties, as well as Effingham County, it appears that Paul Hardiek was elected to a seat on the Teutopolis school board in Tuesday's election.

The Effingham County vote totals for the Teutopolis contests showed Edward Siemer with 437 votes to 436 for Hardiek. Only one person can be elected to the territory where Siemer and Hardiek reside as there are two holdover board members from that territory.

However, in Cumberland County, Hardiek received 38 votes to 26 for Siemer and in Shelby County, Hardiek received 11 votes to seven votes for Siemer, so Hardiek finished with 485 votes to 470 for Siemer.

Adam Hoene, Chandler Hewing and Laura Hemmen were also elected to the Teutopolis board.
