Altamont city council members Monday approved an agreement with Walk Architecture for work on restrooms in two city parks.

The agreement for $7,000 will involve the design of new restrooms in Schmidt Park and renovation work on the facilities in Gilbert Park.

The Council approved an ordinance for a place of worship. The Gathering Church will be relocating to the former KT's Boutique building at 113 North Main Street. Council members also approved Brent Vonderheide to fill a vacancy on the City Tourism Board created by the death of Bruce Kessler.

The Council also learned of two vacancies on the City Zoning Board due to resignations from Wayne Schroeder and longtime member and chairman Sue Hoffmeister.

Council members agreed to seek bids on mowing at the city parks, the sewer lagoon, and at Union Cemetery. This year, city employees will mow the water reservoir property. The bids are due on March 10.

Altamont council members agreed to seek funds to make a sanitary sewer replacement project payment, and authorized a new lease of property at 600 South Main, the El Rancherito location at Schmidt Park. The new lease will include a $200/month penalty for late payment of lease fees.
