Effingham County 911 board members Tuesday were updated by Systems Administrator Tina Daniels on what she learned at the state 911 meeting.

Daniels said State officials have a goal of moving 100 more P-SAPs (911 dispatching points) on to Next Generation technology in 2023.

Daniels also reported on response to the new suicide response system in place for Illinois residents. She said that state officials reported the number of suicide calls are up under the new system, translating to better utilization of the new technology if they are contemplating suicide.

The Board also heard from Dave Faller of West and Company on the 911 audit of the past fiscal year. No discrepancies were found. A vote to accept the audit will be on the March agenda.
