Gatrell Chosen Next EIU President

Dr. Jay Gatrell was named the 13th President of Eastern Illinois University Friday. He will assume the role July 1, 2023 following current President Dr. David Glassman's retirement. 
 
Gatrell is a member of the leadership team at Eastern. He was one of four finalists for the president's post.
