Teutopolis Board Approves Lease of Farm Ground

Teutopolis Village Board members Wednesday passed an ordinance authorizing the lease of 11 acres of real estate.

On a split vote, the lease was approved with John B. Meyer for $1,650 per year. After leasing the ground for several years, there was some discussion of putting the ground in a set-aside program, but a majority of the Board then decided to continue leasing the property for farming. 

The Board purchased a media filter for the water treatment plant for just over $58,000, and allocated an additional $20,000 in Motor Fuel Tax funds to cover the remainder of the street maintenance work done during 2022.

Board members also continued discussion of retirement benefits for village employees, but no decisions were reached.
