Teutopolis village board members have expanded the area where residents can obtain permits to operate recreational off-highway vehicles

The former boundary was the 62467 ZIP code. The change includes anyone living within 1-1/2 miles of the village limits. The same guidelines remain in place as to where the vehicles can be legally operated.

Board members heard a recommendation from a speed study done by the Illinois Department of Transportation on US Route 40 at the west edge of the village. The recommendation is that the speed limit be dropped from 50MPH to 40MPH from Performance Lawn and Power, east into the village. That new zone will include the area in front of Teutopolis High School.

The Board approved an agreement with Zenner for software to work with the village's new water meter system. It was also decided to give Adam and Amy Goeckner their $1,000 bond back for a lot in Prairie View Subdivision, and it was learned that a chlorine detector was needed for the sewer plant.

Three members of the Board couldn't attend so other business was tabled until a future meeting.
