Brownstown school board members Monday approved the tax levy for the coming fiscal year, and abated the taxes for bond payments since the bonds have earned sufficient interest to make the payments.

The Brownstown board approved substitute teacher pay rates for the balance of the school year; approved letters of retirement from Suzanne Stinebring and Randy Sasse, and hired Mike Sasse as a first aid and CPR provider.

Barker Excavating was hired to repair and clean a waterway at the land lab, passed a resolution to abate Working Cash Fund revenues and transfer the funds to the Operations and Maintenance Fund.

The Board also hired Carla Dasenbrock as high school Special Education teacher for the balance of the school year.
