The Effingham County Economic Development Advisory Board Friday voted to recommend the County Board allocate grant funds to an expanding local business.

The motion is to allocate $60,000 in funds to KLH Land Improvement Services owner Kevin Hoopingarner. He is planning to purchase additional equipment as his business continues to grow.

The vote to recommend the County Board award the funding was unanimous. The Board will consider the matter at their monthly meeting this coming Monday.

The Advisory Board works with about $90,000 that the County received from the State to loan new or expanding businesses. The funds are loaned out by the County, and the businesses re-pay the funds so they can be loaned to other companies.
