Effingham City Plan Commission members Tuesday approved a site plan for a T-hangar building at Effingham County Memorial Airport.

The 10-unit structure will be almost 12,000 square feet in area, and will be built west of the existing hangar building.

Commissioners also approved a site plan for a warehouse construction project for Fritz Krampe in the City Business Park at Raney Street and Stevens Avenue.

Another site plan was approved for work at Tri-State Carports along East Route 40 at 1428 East Fayette Avenue. The project will include construction of an 8,400 square foot structure south of the current building on the site.

Commisioners voted to recommend the City Council issue a special use permit to Sperry Sales to build mini-warehouses near the intersection of Illinois Routes 32-33 and Nazarene Road.

The Commission also recommended the Council approve a plat of Lohman Subdivision. It's a revision of a proposed subdivision that was rejected earlier this year. This plan meets with lot size guidelines in non-urban zoning areas.

Also recommended for Council approval was a plat for S&K Subdivision, involving dividing one lot into two lots along Professional Park Avenue.

The Commission held some discussion regarding flood insurance rate maps and flood insurance study reports for Clay and Effingham Counties. A public open house meeting will be scheduled early in 2023.
