Area Results in Contested Elections

Here are the results from Tuesday in contested races in area counties:

CLAY COUNTY--

There were only two races for county board. In District A, Bridget Schnautz was elected, defeating Randy Thompson 198-85. In the other contested race, Jeremy Kohn defeated Lori Banker, 486-86. 

JASPER COUNTY--

There were no contested races in the county Tuesday.

FAYETTE COUNTY--

Incumbent County Clerk Jessica Barker was re-elected, defeating Iris Virden, 6,286 to 1,688. In County Board District 3, Casey Cameron and Michael Butts were elected, with 797 votes and 676 votes, respectively. In District 4, Patrick Click and Ryan Tompkins were elected, with 324 and 200 votes, respectively. In the race for Fayette County Resident Circuit Judge, State's Attorney Joshua Morrison defeated Judge Marc Kelly, 4,267 to 3,652.

SHELBY COUNTY--

Erica Firnhaber defeated James Caputo, 7,440 to 2,061 for County Treasurer. In County Board District 2, Clay Hardy and Mark Bennett were elected with 696 votes and 662 votes, respectively. In County Board District 4, Matt Kessler and Charles Davis, Jr. were elected with 725 and 338 votes, respectively. In County Board District 5, Brent Wallace and Annette Martin were elected with 598 votes and 366 votes, respectively. In County Board District 8, Mitchell Shuff and Jeremy Williams were elected with 653 votes and 533 votes, respectively. In County Board District 10, Tim Morse and Martha Firnhaber were elected with 457 votes and 368 votes, respectively. In County Board District 11, Carol Cole and Julie Edwards were elected with 413 votes and 348 votes, respectively. 

CUMBERLAND COUNTY--

In the County Board Central District, Todd Layton and Jonathan Kaye were elected with 1,206 votes and 730 votes, respectively. In the County Board Eastern District, Janet Blade and Todd Beard were elected with 1,073 votes and 720 votes, respectively. In the County Board Western District, Todd Beard and Floyd Holkenbrink were elected with 1,167 votes and 857 votes, respectively. Two were elected from each district, not one as the online results indicated.
