Two Prison Terms for Two Local Defendants

Two cases in Effingham County Circuit Court have ended in prison sentences.

23-year-old Ricky L. Boerckel of Charleston is beginning a six-year prison term for Methamphetamine Delivery.

Two other cases against Boerckel were dismissed as part of a negotiated plea. He was arrested on the delivery count in July 2020.

44-year-old Joshua A. Stout of Watson will begin a four-year prison term for Possession of Methamphetamine.

A count of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle was dismissed as part of the plea bargain agreement in Stout's case. Stout was arrested in January 2021.
