Cumberland school board members this month approved the budget for the new fiscal year, and approved a field trip for Cumberland FFA members to the National Convention in Indianapolis in October.

The Board accepted John Cash's resignation as head high school cross country coach, approved the employment of Josh Venatta as a middle school boys basketball coach and approved the employment of Waly Coulibaly as a high school boys basketball assistant coach.

Board members also approved the employment of Caroline Kirchmer as a middle school girls assistant volleyball coach, approved the employment of Chelsea Cox as a middle school girsl head track coach, approved the employment of Megan Dittamore as a middle school girls head volleyball coach, and approved Jaylynn Schober as a volunteer for Ag in the Classroom. It was also agreed to post a paraprofessional open job.

The Cumberland board also received comments from audience members about a Cumberland student and their gender identity issue. Some who spoke said they should have been made more aware of the situation and some said they were concerned about the potential impact on their children in the district. The Board received the comments, but no action was taken.
