Shelby County Drugs and Weapons Case Turned Over to Feds

A Shelby County criminal case has now been turned over to Federal prosecutors.

37 counts of weapons and narcotics offenses were filed September 1st against 32-year-old Dagan Traylor of Shelbyville. The charges were filed following an operation conducted by members of the East Central Illinois Task Force, Central Illinois Enforcement Group, the Shelbyville Police Department, Coles County Crisis Response Team, and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.

The operation resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and cocaine, ammunition and various firearms including a rifle, two handguns and three sawed-off shotguns.

Traylor was due in Shelby County Circuit Court on Wednesday, where it was shared that the case will be prosecuted at the Federal level, and that Traylor has already been turned over to Federal authorities.
