State Awards $3.5 Million to Spur Economic Development

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has announced 42 grant recipients that will share nearly $3.5 million in funding. The funds are designed to accelerate local economic recovery initiatives.

The City of Effingham was awarded $75,000 for an economic recovery plan for the City that will focus on residential housing and workforce housing.

Coles Together was awarded $150,000 for a regional plan focused on COVID-19 recovery and economic infrastructure.
