The CEO of CEFS Economic Opportunity Corporation said Tuesday that their agency is fulfilling the existing agreement with Community Support Systems to provide transportation services.

During Monday's Effingham County Board Executive Committee meeting, concerns were shared over a lack of service. Kevin Bushur of CEFS said that Central Illinois Public Transit, a CEFS agency, is providing the services they are contracted to provide. That's for three routes. Bushur said when COVID hit, CSS canceled their contract for transportation services.

Andy Kistler of CSS said they have a need for 12 routes, so 12 drivers. Kistler is currently using CSS staff to cover the routes not being covered by CIPT and is leasing vehicles to transport their consumers on those other nine routes.

Bushur said CEFS is a non-profit agency and said, "We can't lose money". He said the parties need an agreement on the amount it would take to do more routes.
