Shelbyville Man Charged w/Sexual Abuse of an Elderly Person

Charges have been filed against a Shelby County man alleging aggravated criminal sexual abuse of an elderly person as well as aggravated battery to an elderly person.

The offenses could result in prison time.

46-year-old Charles Dow of Shelbyville was charged Friday with the offenses. Dow is accused of committing acts of sexual conduct with a person 60 years of age or older.

Bond for Dow was set at $50,000. He is due in court for a preliminary hearing on September 19.

The case was investigated by the Shelbyville Police Department.
