$5 Million Bond Set for Shelbyville Man

37 counts of weapons and narcotics offenses have been filed against a Shelbyville man. The charges stem from a methamphetamine distribution investigation.

32-year-old Dagan Traylor was charged following an operation conducted on Monday by members of the East Central Illinois Task Force, Central Illinois Enforcement Group, the Shelbyville Police Department, Coles County Crisis Response Team, and the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. It's alleged the operation led to the seizure of 770 grams of methamphetamine including packaging; eight grams of cocaine, including packaging; more than 100 rounds of ammunition; and six loaded and defaced firearms consisting of a rifle, two handguns, and three sawed-off shotguns.

Traylor has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver with a prior unlawful delivery of methamphetamine conviction. If found guilty, Traylor could be sentenced to between 12 and 100 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

A second similar charge was filed with a sentence possible of from eight to 80 years in prison; six counts of armed habitual criminal; 18 counts of possession of weapon by a felon; two counts of unlawful possession of controlled substance; six charges of possession of defaced firearms; and three counts of unlawful use of weapons. Each of the charges carry possible prison terms.

Bond for Traylor was set at $5,000,000. He is next due in court on September 7.
