Cumberland Board Approves Track Resurfacing Project, Approves New Support Professionals Contract

Cumberland school board members have selected Byrne and Jones to resurface the all-weather track at the school complex. The work will cost $270,000. The project will begin in the summer of 2023.

The Board also approved the construction of ADA-compliant sidewalks to the greenhouse facility for just under $25,000.

In personnel moves, the Cumberland board accepted the resignation of Steve Maroon as a middle school boys basketball coach, effective immediately; and then posted the position as well as the position of high school assistant boys basketball coach. The Board employed John Cash as high school cross country coach.

Cumberland board members approved the Cumberland Educational Support Professionals Association employment contract. The agreement is retroactive to July 1 and will run through June 30, 2025. Also approved was the Cumberland Educational Association memorandum of understanding for the Three Circles Grant.

Board members approved Kendra Heinbaugh as volunteer middle school softball coach, approved Jennifer Fitch as volunteer high school cross country coach, approved Rebecca Morgan as volunteer high school cross country coach, approved Lloyd Mock as a volunteer baseball coach, and approved Kristi Shirley as a volunteer classroom presenter through the Cumberland County Farm Bureau.
