Stewardson resident Charles Coleman has been sentenced to three years in prison.

The 45-year-old Coleman was found guilty of retail theft with a prior retail theft conviction.

Coleman was charged with taking various tools from Ace Hardware in Shelbyville. He had been convicted of the same offense in Coles County in 2012. Coleman was identified from video surveillance after Coleman entered the store a second time and an employee observed and documented the license plate on his vehicle.

Coleman failed to meet with the Shelby County Probation Department prior to his sentencing hearing, then failed to appear for his sentencing hearing, leading to a warrant being issued for his arrest.
