Neoga school board members took time at this month's meeting to celebrate the results of the June 28 referendum. The issue will result in funds for a number of repairs to district buildings.

The referendum got more Yes votes than No votes in all three counties that contain portions of the Neoga district.

In regular business, the Neoga board approved an interagency agreement with ERBA Head Start under which the district provides Head Start with pre-school speech services. The board also approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Stew-Stras school district for nursing services, and also approved a contract with Christy Elder for school psychologist services.

Board members named Jerry Hanfland as the district's Eastern Illinois Area Special Education representative and Angie Worman as alternate, and also approved personnel moves.

Jack Stewart's retirement as a custodian was approved effective October 11; and resignations were accepted from paraprofessional Amy Kinnaman, high school assistant softball coach Gabriella Durbin, and junior high interventionist Sarah Dillingham. Alexis Morton was hired to fill the paraprofessional's position.

There was also discussion about a solar energy project being proposed for Neoga, and the board accepted a donation to the district from the estate of late Neoga superfan Bucky Carpenter.
