Man Injured in Fall from Roof

A worker on a local home was injured in a fall Monday afternoon.

The man was working on a portion of the roof of the one-time Garnet Hall at Wabash and 4th when the fall occurred. The worker, whose name is not available, fell from one of the lower level roofs of the structure, not the top of the building.

The man was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, then was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment.

Effingham Police Department, Effingham Fire Department and Rural Med EMS all assisted at the scene.
