Dieterich school board members discussed new COVID-19 guidance for schools. The guidance is coming from the Illinois Department of Public Health, Illinois State Board of Education and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

No action was taken by the Board regarding the guidance. Currently, the District's Board-approved policy is that the Board will take the guidance into consideration when making decisions relating to the District's COVID-19 plan, but will not necessarily adopt the guidance in its entirety.

The Board also formally opted out of the Comprehensive Personal Health and Safety and Sexual Health Education/National Sex Education standards.

Dieterich Superintendent Cary Jackson also discussed a price increase of $3,500 in new bus pricing; and reviewed new legislation for the upcoming school year focused on mental health and student well-being; educational service for students in the custody of DCFS; and computer science, computer literacy and media literacy standards.

The Dieterich board chose Dieterich Bank to be the primary depository for district funds for the coming fiscal year; approved the purchase of new high school cheerleading and high school volleyball uniforms; accepted the resignation of Amber Schumacher as an aide; and hired Jamie Martin as a substitute bus driver for the upcoming school year.
