The City of Effingham's 4th of July fireworks celebration will take place on Monday night.

The event will begin at 9pm with acknowledgement of the sponsors of the event and the presentation of the National Anthem. That will be followed by the fireworks display, which is presented by Effingham Noon Rotary. Even though the instatllation of a turf field and videoboard is underway, Unit 40 school district has given permission for fireworks watchers to sit in the football bleachers at Klosterman Field at Washington Savings Bank Stadium.

Also Monday evening, the Effingham Knights of Columbus Council will present special activities at the Effingham Event Center starting at around 6pm. There will be food items available from Toppins Soft Serve and Macklin's Kettle Corn and perhaps one other vendor. There will also be music provided by Danny Shelton and the Bird Dogs starting at 7pm and continuing both before and after the fireworks.

A reminder that patriotic music will be aired on Classic Hits 979 XFM and on KJ Country 102.3 .for the Effingham fireworks on Monday night and for the Lake Sara fireworks on Sunday night.
