Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Tuesday announced $50.7 million in infrastructure grants awarded to 34 communities, counties and localities across the state. The funds are being awarded for infrastructure projects including bridge replacement, water treatment upgrades, and road construction projects.

State funds will be metby $72.1 million in matching commitments for capital projects.

One project is in our area. $2 million is being allocated for the expansion of the Delbert Mundt Water Treatment Plant near Beecher City. The plant is operated by E-J Water Cooperative.

In total, the Rebuild Illinois capital plan will be providing at least $3.3 billion in grants and programs for locals and businesses around the state.
