A prayer service will be held Friday at the Cross at the Crossroads in Effingham.

The service will last from 12:15pm to 1pm. Local community member Ty Griffith will lead the service to pray for the victims and the community of Uvalde, Texas.

When reflecting on this week’s tragic event, Griffith said, “The massacre of innocent children stirs up all sorts of anger. Instead of arguing on social media about what the government should or shouldn’t do in response, I hope to bring Christians together to pray to God our Father, the creator of heaven and earth, for healing in the Uvalde community.”

In case of rain, the prayer service will be held in the Chapel inside the Welcome Center. If you’re unable to join in person, you're asked to pray where you are.
