Town Hall Meeting on Vandalia Prison on June 6

A Town Hall meeting has been scheduled for Monday evening, June 6, regarding Vandalia Correctional Center.

State Senator Jason Plummer and State Representative Blaine Wilhour had indicated the Town Hall would be scheduled once word was received that reductions in the inmate population at Vandalia might happen. There is much concern over the local economy in the Vandalia area should things change significantly at the prison.

The Town Hall will take place from 6:30 to 8:00pm on the 6th at the Kaskaskia College Vandalia Center at 2310 West Fillmore Street in Vandalia. The event is free and open to the public. The legislators plan to provide an update on what information they've been able to collect from the administration, and there will be time for people to offer comments and ask questions.
