Former Effingham resident Rick Meador and an accomplice were each sentenced Thursday to 50 years in prison in the shooting death of Kyle Johnson in Olney in 2020.

The 20-year-old Meador pleaded guilty last September to the shooting, while 35-year-old Tara Haws of Olney was found guilty in March for her role in Johnson's murder. Each will have to serve three years' mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

Another co-defendant, 33-year-old Dale Boatman, Jr. of Olney pled guilty last October for his role in Johnson's death and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. A fourth co-defendant, 18-year-old Kalia Arnone, also received a 15-year sentence.
