Scam Victim Warns So It Won't Happen to You

A local resident was scammed, and he's trying to prevent you from suffering a similar fate.

A gentleman phoned the newsroom Wednesday afternoon to report that he had been phoned by someone saying they were from UPS. The recorded message indicated his order had been held up because of a balance due.

The man was waiting on packages from UPS so let his guard down and when a live person came onto his phone, he gave the person his debit card information. The scammer cleaned out the man's account.
