A Green Creek native has been hired as the next Windsor Elementary School principal.

Windsor Superintendent Erik VanHoveln said that John Will has been teaching at the school for 20 years.

The Board also reviewed plans for a possible construction project. The work would include adding on a cafeteria/multi-purpose room to the back of the junior/senior high school building, and adding air-conditioning and new bleachers to the 1980 gym. Van Hoveln said the estimated price tag for the project is $4.2 million. He said the Board tabled the matter for further consideration at the May meeting.

Windsor board members approved the 2022-2023 school calendar that calls for the first day for students on August 18, one day after a teacher's institute. The Board also heard a FFA presentation and heard from Jackie Sierra on the district's 6th grade Buddy System.

In addition to hiring Will as principal, the Windsor board accepted Tyler Warner's resignation as custodian; hired Lisa Doss and Michael Donnel as full time bus drivers; hired Summer School teachers; hired Melissa Murphy as junior/senior high school Social Studies teacher; hired Jodi Davidson as junior/senior high school Health and PE teacher; hired Heather Rincker as district nurse; and approved a maternity leave for speech pathologist Vanessa Fritscher.
