Teutopolis School Board Looking to Fill Vacancy

Teutopolis school board members Tuesday directed Superintendent Matt Sturgeon to post a vacancy on the board and seeking applicants.

Matt Carpenter had been appointed to fill a vacancy, but has now resigned from the Board.

The Board also awarded a bid for tuckpointing work at J.H. Griffin Gym at Teutopolis High School. Kross Masonry was awarded the work and two bids for additional work at a total cost of $85,494.60. Also approved was a request that a child of a district employee who lives outside the district be allowed to attend Teutopolis schools next year.

Teutopolis board members also:

--approved renewing the contract with Common Goal Systems for the student information system

--approved coaches holding summer sports camps

--heard administrator reports and information on district athletic facilities and programs

In personnel matters, the Teutopolis board accepted the resignation of Maci Westfall as grade school paraprofessional and retirements from Patricia Mette as high school head cook, Teresa Heuerman as a high school cook, Geralyn Koester as grade school custodian, all effective at the end of the school year.

The Board hired Samantha Bloemer as a 7.5 hour/day grade school paraprofessional, Lainey Johnson as high school volleyball assistant coach, Nicole Vineyard as junior high cheer sponsor, and Jim Dietz as 8th grade volleyball coach.
