Altamont school board members Tuesday amended the end of this school year.

The last day for students is now Tuesday, May 24.

Board members heard the annual library report from Sue Poe, and an Altamont Grade School presentation from Grades Pre-K to 2nd grade teachers on class sizes, Title services, and Pre-K needs.

The Board renewed its contract with OPAA for food services for the coming school year; agreed to have Superintendent Casey Adam seek bids for banking services; and renewed membership in the IHSA and IESA for the coming school year, with member Kerry Wolff voting No.

Altamont board members hired Steve Flood as a bus driver and Holly Homann as a paraprofessional, and accepted a resignation from Robbie Kline at the end of the current school year. The Board tabled the question of volunteer coaches to seek some clarification; authorized Superintendent Adam to place used equipment up for bid; and tabled action on handbook changes for further review on both the student handbook and the athletic handbook.

Board members Chris Guse and Martin Reyes were not present for Tuesday's meeting.
