Mattoon Man Injured in Crash in Jasper County

A person was airlifted for treatment of injuries received in a Thursday night crash in rural Jasper County.
The crash happened about 11pm on North 600th Street at East 1900th Avenue. Illinois State Police report a truck driven by 43-year-old Geoffery McGahey of Mattoon was headed south. Police say that, for some reason, McGahey's truck left the roadway to the left and overturned. McGahey was flown to a regional hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
McGahey was cited for DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, not wearing a seatbelt, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
