Borries Hired as Principal at North Clay

Ben Borries has been hired as the next grade school and junior high principal for North Clay schools.

The hiring came at a special meeting of the North Clay school board on Wednesday.

Borries will succeed Aron Spicer, who is heading to Effingham Unit 40 schools for an administrative position.

The North Clay board also updated committee assignments, and voted to delay the employment of a high school track coach until the District can provide notice to the North Clay Education Association, and an opportunity to bargain a stipend for the position.

The Board voted to suspend two parents of the district from all activities and extracurricular activities effective immediately and for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year.

Board members also voted to hire Michael Hornerkamp as high school PE teacher for the coming school year.
