Altamont city council this week reviewed plans for the city's new residential development known as South Point Subdivision.

The Council looked at plans for water lines, sewer lines and street and storm sewer layouts. Nothing has been finalized.

Council members approved the purchase of a utility easement given by Chris Tappendorf for a new residential project, and approved a roadside fundraiser request for Altamont American Legion Post #512 for Poppy Days on April 22.

The Council also approved a book walk summer event in Schmidt Park, along the walking path in the park.

Also approved was a two-year subscription with TextMyGov, allowing the City to issue water, electric and traffic alerts to city residents via text.
