Effingham County Health Department reported 27 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the period from Friday, February 25 through Thursday, March 3.

22% of those cases were up to date with their vaccinations, 63% were completely unvaccinated, and 15% were not up to date with their vaccinations.

There was one COVID-related death in the county in this past week. The person was in their 90s and unvaccinated. That brings the number of COVID-related deaths in the county since the pandemic began to 130.

The numbers continue to improve in other areas, too. The seven-day rolling test positivity was down to 3.2% through February 28, and ICU availability in our region is up to 35%.
