The Effingham Public Library Board has approved updated salary ranges. The changes are effective in May.

The board also approved the library budget for the coming year.

Board members decided to use five half-day sessions for staff training this year. Library Director Amanda McKay said they will either open at 11am or close at 4pm on those half-days.

The Board approved a memorandum of understanding with Hour House of Charleston. The agency will use the library's basement office a couple of hours each week for their Peer Recovery Navigator program.

Board members noted the end of terms upcoming for members Jared Chesnut, Lisa Koerner and Steve Miller and will check to see whether they want to remain on the board.

Members also heard that the annual fund drive raised $30,000, about $10,000 more than the previous year. The funds will be used for technology improvements, as well as paying off the library building debt.
