An Effingham woman has been sentenced to prison time.

31-year-old Kaylynn Smith pleaded guilty in November to a count of aggravated battery doing great bodily harm. The incident occurred in September and involved injuries to an employee of HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital.

Smith was sentenced Tuesday to 30 months in prison, must make restitution to the victim, and was fined. She will serve one year mandatory supervised release once out of prison.
